Jessica booked me for a 20 minute photography session as she needed some up to date head shots for her LinkedIn profile. Heard and profile shots are something that not very many people enjoy doing, so I wasn’t surprised when Jessica told me she wasn’t overly looking forward to it!

I suggested we meet in Cheltenham town centre as Jessica had said she wanted an urban context. We wandered into the Montpellier quarter and I soon spied some colourful bunting and pretty building facades that I thought would make interesting backdrops.

Since the end of lockdown I’ve been inundated with enquiries for head and profile shots. What with everyone working from home more, seems the demand for good quality head shots is very high. I normally recommend 20-30 minutes for a session like this in the studio and try to make it as relaxed and informal as possible.

It was great to welcome Ally into my photography studio after months of being locked down. Ally was after some head and profile shots for his LinkedIn and Zoom profiles. The session was just 20 minutes long and included 5 digital images, plenty for what Ally needed.

Graham booked one of my affordable studio shoots as he needed some up to date head and full length body shots for his LinkedIn profile. I try to make all my photo shoots as informal as possible, it helps client’s to relax and feel more at ease, which comes across in the final images. I like to incorporate vintage pieces of furniture as it adds a little more interest to the pictures, and provides alternative seating angles for clients.

I was booked for an hour and a half for some head shots and informal group shots of employees from local business, CMC, who were at a company event at the Cotswold Water Park. We took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and setting and used the balcony for the head shots. It’s not something that most people ever enjoy, so I always try my best to chat a little to help put client’s at ease.

Emma contacted me recently as she needed some up to date headshots for her LinkedIn profile. I met her at Crickley Hill, which always makes a great location for this type of work, and we took a walk through the woods. It was a blustery day, so the trees offered good shelter, therefore avoiding any blow away hair. As with all my photo shoots, it was very relaxed and informal. I always try to put my client’s at ease.

This hour long shoot took place in the heart of Cheltenham at the offices of this planning company. After a short scope out, two backdrops were chosen, brick walls, to help give the images context. All members of staff were photographed against both walls, in landscape and portrait profiles. Black and white copies were also sent over with the final selection of images.

Caroline recently approached me about taking some head shots for her website. We met at a hair salon in Cheltenham and spent the twenty minute shoot utilising various different locations. I’m a frequent visitor at Crickley Hill, be it to photograph dogs, children, families or other, it’s a great versatile spot. On this occasion I was booked to take some head and profile shots of Emma, a landscape gardener. The setting, suggested by myself, was very appropriate. It was a 20 minute shoot and we spent the majority of it in one spot that I know lends itself well to head shots. Relaxed and informal, I helped put Emma at ease and bring out her personality.

Recently out of university, Josh required a variety of portrait and landscape head shots for his CV. Pittville Park always makes a great backdrop for all different kinds of shoots, and being just around the corner from him, it made a lot of sense to do the shoot there.

Spirax Sarco CEO Magazine

I was recently booked to take some head and profile shots of Nick Anderson, CEO of Spirax Sarco for CEO Magazine. It was a 60 minute shoot with a 30 minute recky before hand with Nick’s PA to scope out the best angles and positions. After mocking up a meeting in Nick’s board room, we moved onto some informal shots at his desk before heading outside for a shot in the grounds.

Forest of Dean Council

A week after taking head shots for Cotswold District Council, I was in the Forest of Dean taking more profile pictures of the councillors there. I was booked for four hours in two slots and again, photographed over thirty people. The images will be used for the same purpose as Cotswold District Council - on councillor’s passes and the website. Again, I met some great characters!

Cotswold District Council

Its been a busy few weeks travelling back and forth between various different council offices. I was in Cirencester with Cotswold District Council taking head shots of all the new councillors. I was booked for two hours to photograph over thirty people. The images will be used on their passes and on the website. It was great fun as always, and I met some great characters too.
