I was recently booked for a 60 minute family photo shoot over in Chipping Norton. The family had hired a large house for the weekend to celebrate a 70th birthday. As with all my photo shoots, the tone was very relaxed and informal. We began with a few formal family photos before moving round to the playground where the children could run off some energy. Here are a few of my favourites.

This 60 minute family photo shoot took place in Moreton-on-Marsh at a house the family had rented for the weekend. They were keen for less posed shots and more natural photos so I made a few suggestions about how we might be able to achieve that.

As with all my photo shoots, it was lots of fun and the children in particular felt it was more like one big play session than a professional photo shoot! I think that is the best way to approach this sort of thing though. If everyone is having a great time and smiling and laughing lots then that energy will come across in the photos. Here are some of the highlights.

Raffy, Ethan and Betty

This on location two hour photo shoot took place in Ampney Crucis at a gorgeous Cotswold house that my clients had hired for the week. They weren’t celebrating a particular anniversary or birthday but it’s rare for the whole family to be together so they wanted to take advantage of the opportunity.

As with all my photo shoots it was very relaxed and informal. The emphasis was on having fun to try and get some energy into the shots. There are certain tricks one can do to achieve this but I find using things like swings, slides and other items of play equipment a great way to get everyone involved.
