John Kidson's 90th

I was recently booked to cover a 90th birthday celebration taking place at Burleigh Court Hotel near Stroud. John Kidson was turning 90, and his daughter, Millie contacted me to enquire into my availability. She booked me for four hours, which covered guests arriving, their sit down meal and a magician, who arrived shortly after they had finished eating.

Not being a motorbike fan, I was completely oblivious as to who John was. In his youth, he had won the Isle of Man TT race a number of times, turns out, he’s a bit of a legend!

The party itself was rather lovely, with a drinks reception, followed by a delicious looking lunch, followed by cake, coffee and magic tricks. My brief was to capture the events as they unfolded. All very candid, natural shots, which is just the way I like it. Below is just a small sample from the 183 photos that Millie and her family received.

Golden Wedding Anniversary

Alwyn and Nigel were celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary with friends and family at Cowley Manor. They booked me for an hour to capture some informal photos of themselves and their guests, followed by some more formal photos in the garden. It was a lovely occasion, some of those there had attended their wedding 50 years ago! Below are a small selection of shots.

Joesph's Bar Mitzvah

Louise booked me for three hours to cover her son’s Bar Mitzvah at Mal Maison in Cheltenham. Joseph was celebrating this key milestone in his life with close friends and family. The brief was informal, candid shots to capture the fun and the mayhem that unravelled! It certainly was a jam packed itinerary, which was all rounded off with a Queen medley. Oz Wedding Bash!

Vanessa booked me for two hours to cover her brother’s post wedding party at their parent’s house. Her brother had got married in Australia the year before and the whole family were coming together now to celebrate. Despite the rain, the bunting, flowers, cocktails and gazebos transformed the garden into a boutique glamping space. As the rain came down, more and more guests turned up. We were fortunate to get a small break from the drizzle when we took the opportunity to get some group shots and a large group shot of everyone. Apart from a few formal photos, the brief was a natural, reportage style, which is my preferred style. Below is a small selection from the one hundred and forty seven images the couple received.

Samuel's Christening

Tom booked me for two hours to cover his son’s Christening party in Tetbury. They had originally wanted me to cover the ceremony as well, but the vicar wouldn’t allow any photos to be taken during the service. It was a rather lovely event, I arrived a little early to capture the room, cake and other small touches the family had organised before the guests started to arrive.
