Eloise's Christening

I photographed Eloise when she was just six weeks old, and so it was great to be invited back to photograph her christening. The vicar had requested no photos to be taken during the service, so I arrived at the end to capture a couple of group shots around the font before heading back to the house for an informal drinks reception. The weather was beautiful, so after photographing the cake, I headed outside onto the lawn for some candid pictures of guests. A few more group photos followed before food was served and I made my departure. It was a two hour shoot in total, and as always, my approach was extremely natural and straight forward.

80th @ Temple Guiting Manor

Last Friday I was booked to cover an 80th bash at the gorgeous Temple Guiting Manor. It was a glorious evening, so everyone was keen to go outside for pictures on the formal lawn. We started with family groups, as per my client’s request, before moving onto more candid, natural shots of the children and adults relaxing in the evening sunshine. It was a 60 minute shoot and, as always, it was very relaxed and informal. Guests were able to gather and mingle as I gently pulled them to one side when it was their turn for a photo, (I’d been given a shot list in advance.)

Ren's Christening

A few weeks ago lovely Ren was christened at St Peter’s Church in Leckhampton. I’ve done a few weddings and baptisms here and I must say, the vicar is one of the friendliest I’ve had the pleasure to meet. It’s so nice when I’m given a free reign to wander down the side passages and up the aisle, which isn’t always the case. There have been many times when the vicar has asked I stay at the back. I do understand these services have great religious significance but at the same time it’s rather disappointing for the families, who have paid a significant sum of money for me to be there to document the occasion.

Still, I’m pleased to say that on this occasion I had access to all areas and what a lovely service it was. Ren, who just wouldn’t sit still, brought a smile to everyone’s faces. It was delightful to watch her mooch around the Church, completely oblivious to what was going on. There were some very poignant readings by close family members after which Mum managed to catch little Ren for the all important bit of having the water splashed over her head.

Below is just a small selection of images. As with all my shoots, all pictures are included in the price. This particular family received ninety images, all of which they were very pleased with. Check out my review page to read about their experience with me. Click here.

Jake's Baptism

I've been getting a lot of Baptism bookings lately so when Jake's Mum, Abby-Gail, contacted me about photographing her son's, I was really excited. I got even more excited when I found out that the service was to take place in a Church with the most beautiful riverside setting!

I was booked for two hours to cover the Baptism and reception afterwards. Because the service was public I wasn't allowed to take any photos at any part other than the Baptism itself. During that time I went outside and took photos of the setting. I came back in at the end to capture some shots of Ella, Jake's big sister, saying the final Amen. A really special moment for the family.

The mobile phone in the pictures is deliberate. One set of Jake's Godparents live in South Africa and were unable to make the journey. They therefore said their promises via Face Time. A first for me!!
