The Legler Family

Aubree contacted me to book a 60 minute shoot with her family - Jess, Anna, Simon, Scott and Monty the dog. We met at Daisybank car park and from there walked into the woods. It was a beautiful Autumnal day, and the family found plenty of leaves to throw at each other! The photos were a mix of family portraits combined with candid, natural shots. As with all my shoots, the mood was very relaxed and the emphasis was on having fun. Below are just a small selection of images from the 51 pictures they received.

Birdlip Woods

Hazel got in touch with me recently to book a 40 minute family photoshoot wither her husband and their son, William, and both sets of grandparents. We met at The Royal George in Birdlip, and from there walked into the woods. It’s a spot I hadn’t been to before, but I always enjoy visiting new locations and this one was great, offering both a woodland setting and open fields. The format of the shoot was relaxed and laid back. There was a combination of formal family shots with fun, ad hoc ones too.

Bubbles in Bibury

I recently met this lovely family in Bibury for a 60 minute shoot. They were from London and were staying in the Cotswolds for a long weekend. I get a lot of requests for photo shoots from people on holiday in all sorts of different locations. Bibury is particularly popular due to the pretty river and quaint rows of cottages. We got there super early, and I mean super early, to avoid the hoards of tourists. By the end of the hour the village was already starting to feel very busy.

Oscar, Seb and Zach

I’ve photographed Nicole and her gorgeous family a few times before so it was great to catch up with her again for some more photos. This time her parents and brother joined us. We met at Sudely Castle and walked down a footpath to a gorgeous field, just outside the castle grounds. It’s a gorgeous spot and one I have only recently come across. As usual, it was all very relaxed and informal, with the emphasis on playing rather than posing. The Grandparent’s were keen for a couple of more formal family photos but other than that I was left to chase the boys around! The shoot was 30 minutes long. Nicole and her family received forty seven images, below is just a small selection.

The Jones' Family

Bob booked me for one and a half hours to cover a family lunch at his house, with his parents and brother, to celebrate their father’s 60th birthday. The weather was super nice and the children were in high spirits - especially when the bubbles came out and Yogi the dog arrived! The brief was a mix of formal family photographs combined with some candid shots.

The family received 94 high resolution images, below is just a small sample of some of them.

Bluebells 2022

I last saw Amanda and her family back in May 2018, when her two children were a lot smaller - I couldn’t believe how much they had both grown up! To view the photos from that shoot, please click here.

We chose the bluebell woods again as it always makes a great spot for photos and the fields at the back add another element to what is already a glorious backdrop.

This time around the children’s grandparents joined us. The brief was a mix of informal family photos with more structured shots of individual family members with the children. As always, it was lots of fun and more like a play and a run around than a photo shoot. The kids always enjoy themselves, which is really satisfying for me, as a photographer.

In total, the family received 60 high resolution images, below is just a small selection of shots from their shoot.

The Smurthwaite Family

A few weeks ago I met Tina, her husband Colin, and their two children, Iris and Angus , at Sudely Castle, Winchcombe. We didn’t go into the grounds, but instead, strolled down a nearby footpath to a field behind the castle that the family knew well and had used a lot during Lockdown. It was a great spot and I’ll definitely be going back again soon with other families!

The shoot was an hour long and we were fortunate to have glorious sunshine, which although isn’t always a photographer’s dream light to work with, because the shadows can be quite hard, it has felt like a long Winter so we were all pleased to see it shining that morning!

The shoot was very informal with a mixture of family shots and portraits of the children. We let them free range and explore, an approach that often generates lovely, natural images of little ones. It was thoroughly enjoyable and I felt we captured some lovely moments. Below is a small selection.

The Slatteries

I was recently booked to cover a small family celebration at Copsegrove Farm in Bisley, Stroud. The group had booked the house for the weekend and were making the most of the fine weather. I was there for just 30 minutes but captured some formal family shots, as per the request of the client, followed by some fun informal rugby shots. We went back inside the house where I photographed the family enjoying drinks. Below are a selection of images.

The Tussie Family

Sharon originally booked me to do this shoot last year but unfortunately due to lockdown their trip and subsequently the photo shoot got postponed. Fast forward twelve months and they couldn’t have picked a better weekend to reschedule! The weather was glorious and when I arrived, everybody was enjoying the stunning view across the rolling Cotswold hills.

As per the client’s request, we began the shoot with some traditional family photographs. Sharon was keen to capture one of her and her husband with all the grand children, a whole family shot and individual family shots. These were performed effortlessly, with a few fun ones of all the grandchildren too! Once the formal photos were done, we reverted to more casual, informal shots. The children had a lovely time playing and running around. Below is a small selection of images from the shoot. The client received over sixty high resolution images, which is typical for an hour long shoot of this nature.

The Cary Family

Rachael was given her photo shoot as a gift voucher last Christmas. As with all my gift vouchers, none of them have an expiry date so can be redeemed at any point. She chose a small wooded area near where she lives with her family. It was a lovely, quiet spot with a couple of benches and some great trees that the kids loved climbing! The shoot was an hour long and the general feel was informal and fun. I always take it as a great compliment when the kids at the end say that it was really fun!! Below are just a selection of shots from the shoot. The client received around sixty high resolution images, which is typical for this type of shoot.
